I know I'm slow, but here are some more updates as I promised! :)
First of all, Ella has started standing up in her bed! I'm sure she's done it before, but last night was the first time I've witnessed it. She was in there jabbering away having a good time so I peeked in on her and she was standing up talking to herself. I'm surprised it's taken her this long considering she pulls up on everythign else in sight. She doesn't sit down much now because if there's anything within reach that she can pull up on, she does. Sometimes she forgets that she doesn't know how to walk and she lets go and plops down. She'll figure it out before we know it though and then she'll really be off! :)
She has almost finished making her top front teeth! They have been trying to cut through the gums all week. It's been tough for her a few days, but for the most part she's done pretty well with it. We're gonna miss her cute little scraggly toothed smile when her front teeth come in! :) I think she's also starting to cut her bottom side teeth, but they aren't up to the gums yet. Wont be long and she'll have a mouth full of teeth!
Unfortunately, today we gotta take her to the doctor because her left eye seems to be infected. When I picked her up from school yesterday, it was all puffy and red and oozing goop. I had some leftover eye drops from one of Owen's eye infections, so I started using them last night and it's getting better, but I'm out of drops, so we're gonna go to the doctor at lunch and have it checked out. It doesnt seem to be bothering her too terribly much.
Here's some of the old things that I promised to blog about a while back. :)
Ella's jabbering- she talks all the time now. She says "da da da da" and "bubba bubba". Those are her main "words" that we make out. The rest is just baby noises so far. :)
Owen's latest talking advances :)- He has really started filling in his vocabulary. He pretty much repeats everything we say and can say almost every word we can now pretty clearly. He understands so much it amazes me. The other day in the car, it was hot and I had started the A/C but it wasnt very cold yet and he goes "Need some air!". It was so cute! I can't think of all the cute things he's done like that lately, but it's all the time. It's so much fun being able to have conversations with him. When we're laying down at night to go to bed we always talk about his day and what he wants to do the next day and he's always so cute.
Ella's eating real food! woo hoo!- She's even gotten to where she doesnt want much jarred baby food. She eats peas and cut up carrots and green beans. She's also had some other things like biscuits with jelly and other things that are soft enough for her to chew pretty easily. She mostly loves things she can eat on her own. She doesnt seem to like being fed as much as Owen always has. He'll still let someone feed him if they are willing! She's quite the opposite. She wants to do it all on her own.
Owen's the boss- Owen is the typical big brother who is Mr. Boss. He gets on to Ella about all kinds of funny things and watches out for her. If she is goign for a piece of paper, he'll say "Eh-uh, no eat paper!". The other day she was trying to pull up on his little rocking chair and he goes "Eh-uh, not a good idea." It was hilarious. Matt and I both looked over to find out what she was doing that was "not a good idea". For the most part, he's usually right about what he's getting on to her about, so that's good at least. The only thing he's overly enthusiastic about is when she's trying to play WITH him with something. He doesnt like for her to touch his stuff or him and he gets pretty emphatic about telling her to leave him alone. What's funny is that she seems to purposefully agitate him. Iwouldnt have expected a 9 month old to know how to do that, but she definitely does. :) It's cute now, but hopefully it wont get too out of control as they grow up!
That's all I've got right now, but I'll try to update more often!!

More Owen Dancing
Owen was doing some of his silly dancing one morning, so I decided to record some of it.
He has long had a strange ability to identify Bibles, which is why I decided to ask him about the one in the video. One day several months ago, he started talking to me about a Bible in a carrying case. Since then he has correctly identified a myriad of Bibles of various shapes and sizes, with only one or two false positives that I know of. Don't ask me how.

Ella's in school
It's somewhat bitter-sweet, but Ella started school this week! It's nice to have a consistent place to take her every day so I can go to work, but I just hate being away from her all day every day. She's still not taking a bottle or drinking milk much at all, so it's really tough, but I guess we would have to do it eventually. :) What's great about it is that she loves going to school! When I drop her off, she jumps out of my arms (almost literally!) and wants to go play on the floor with the other kids. She also gives her teachers big huge smiles when she gets there. And that's just the first week so hopefully it'll just keep getting better. They said she's being a little stubborn about sleeping, but they get her to sleep either in the swing or by rocking her. I'm happy that she's got some other kids her size to play with too. She's much more interactive with kids than Owen ever was (or is for that matter...). Yesterday when I dropped her off, she crawled right up to this little boy who was about her size and just stared at him for several minutes. It was really cute. I love seeing my kids playing with other kids. I dont get to see it much, so it's fascinating to me. :)
Ella's having her first full day without me today too! I've got volleyball practice for the Richardson Corporate Challenge tournament that HP participates in every year. I wont be home until about 10, so it'll be a long day for Ella without me! (and me without her!!!) I hope they get her to drink some milk! :
Just in case I forget... Here are some upcoming post topics:
- Ella's jabbering
- Owen's latest talking advances :)
- Ella's eating real food! woo hoo!
- Owen's the boss
- Whatever other adventures we encounter before I get to post again :)
