Anna had her 2-week checkup last Friday and she's growing perfectly! She weighed 8-lb, 8-oz and was 21-in long. That's a 10-oz gain since she was born and 3/4-inches longer!!! She's perfectly healthy in every way. The doctor didn't have much to say, so we just keep cruising along until her 2-month checkup where she gets shots. :( She's such a wonderful baby girl. She's had 1 fussy night that we think was due to a tummy ache, so I'm working on a better diet to hopefully avoid that. I've tried to cut out as much milk as possible in case it's lactose that's bothering her. So far, she's been fine since then, so we'll see! Who knows... could have been too much tea that bothered her or something else, but we'll keep trying stuff to keep her healthy and happy! Otherwise, she's been a perfect angel. She takes bottles like a champ, doesn't mind formula if I don't have milk pumped for her and need to be away from her for a little while and still sleeps quite a bit. She still wakes up pretty frequently during the night to eat, but hopefully we'll get into a rhythm soon.
Since Anna's not the only one around here, I thought I'd log a little update on the other two as well. :) Owen has been an incredible bundle of ridiculous energy lately. He starts running full speed when he wakes up in the morning and doesn't slow down until we force him to go to bed at night. His favorite thing to do lately is beat people up. If you let him, he'll beat you senseless. He likes to punch, wrestle, etc. We've been trying to channel it against certain people, like daddy who can control it a little bit and help him learn how to do it more safely. :) We are also trying to teach him not to be too rough with certain people like the old folks or like me when i was pregnant... We're hoping to get him into something like Judo or Jui Jitsu where he can use his energy for something structured and learn to do that sort of stuff safely. Other stuff going on with him has been enrollment in Kindergarten!!! I can't believe it but my baby boy is going to be starting Kindergarten in August! He's officially enrolled now and will be attending Cross Oaks Elementary which is scheduled to open here in our neighborhood this year. He'll be the first K class, so that will be fun. :) He got to meet his principal the other day at the Kindergarten Round-Up. I'm not sure he understands what the "principal" is, but he thought it was cool anyways. :)
Ella is still wonderful of course. She's started writing lately. She can write her name really well and can write almost anything else with a little bit of help. She has a few favorite letters that she knows, but with just a little help, can write others as well. She still follows Owen around like a shadow. She wants to do everything he does and doesn't know what to do with herself when he's not around. They love each other so much and I'm so thankful that they have each other. Ella also loves her princesses. She loves to wear "princess dresses" (any dress) :) and every now and then talks her brother into dressing up like princesses with her. :) She gets to go to school with Owen in the fall. They are offering a Pre-K program at the elementary school that Ella will be attending. We're so excited about that. I was worried we were gonna end up with all 3 kids in different places in the fall, but this way Owen and Ella can be together and Anna will be with Miss Debi until October, so she'll be near my work. God worked it out perfectly for us as he always does and we're so thankful!
To sum it all up, we have the most awesome family imaginable and I can't imagine what we'd do with ourselves if we didn't have all of our precious little monkeys!
